Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a high level of accuracy, discretion, and organizational and technical skills. The individual will also need to be willing to learn and work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries, specifically pass-through transactions and calculations.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in the preparation of statements to owners.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
- Collaborate with financial advisors and other team members.
- Assist with audits, tax preparation, and financial analysis as needed.
- Prepare and distribute K-1’s and 1099 tax forms.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and client information at all times.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in financial services or wealth management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). An understanding of Spreadsheet Sync or SaasAnt is preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and tax regulations and forms.
- Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial recordkeeping.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities to perform tasks as efficiently as possible.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and request help when needed.
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.
