Job Summary

The Finance Director is a key member of the finance team. They are responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. The Finance Director ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data and provides strategic financial guidance to senior management. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead and develop a team.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and present accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.

 

Accounting Operations:

• Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

 

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Develop and manage the annual budget and forecasting processes.
• Analyze financial performance and provide variance analysis.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

 

Internal Controls:

• Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, if applicable.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews of accounting processes.

 

Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Ensure efficient allocation of resources and responsibilities.

 

Audit and Compliance:

• Manage relationships with external auditors.
• Coordinate and support financial audits.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations.

 

Financial Analysis:

• Perform financial analysis and provide insights to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports to management.
• Assist in evaluating potential mergers and acquisitions.

 

Systems and Technology:

• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and systems.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s degree preferred).
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
• 7 years of experience in accounting and corporate finance
• Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of internal controls.
