Steve Otten is a Senior Vice President at Seventy2 Capital, where he focuses on assisting clients plan and pursue a predictable retirement income designed to support their desired lifestyle. He draws on over 15 years of industry experience, as well as professional certifications like the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation. Steve employs a comprehensive wealth management approach from asset accumulation, protection, and risk management to tax efficient strategies and legacy planning. He is well versed in alternative investments and non-correlated assets to pursue well diversified investment strategies and work towards his clients’ goals.

 

Prior to joining Seventy Capital, he was a Vice President and Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch, a Bank of America Company, where he was part of a team serving high-net-worth individuals and families. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park. He has been recognized by AdvisorHub as a 2023 Advisor to Watch and by Five Star Professionals as a 2023 Five Star Wealth Manager.

 

Steve is an active member of his community and is the former President of his hometown Rotary Club. As an avid endurance sport athlete, Steve regularly competes in triathlons and marathons to raise funds and awareness for various charitable organizations including Rotary International, Forum for Equality, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Children of Fallen Patriots, Semper Fi Fund, The Arc, and Casa Foundation, among others. He and his wife have one daughter and two dogs and love to travel, hike and spend time with family.

Been subject to a regulatory action that resulted in a license being suspended or revoked, or payment of a fine; B. Had more than a total of three settled or pending complaints filed against them and/or a total of five settled, pending, dismissed or denied complaints with any regulatory authority or FSP’s consumer complaint process. Unfavorable feedback may have been discovered through a check of complaints registered with a regulatory authority or complaints registered through FSP’s consumer complaint process; feedback may not be representative of any one client’s experience; C. Individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint; D. Filed for personal bankruptcy within the past 11 years; E. Been terminated from a financial services firm within the past 11 years; F. Been convicted of a felony); 4. Fulfilled their firm review based on internal standards; 5. Accepting new clients. Evaluation criteria – considered: 6. One-year client retention rate; 7. Five-year client retention rate; 8. Non-institutional discretionary and/or non-discretionary client assets administered; 9. Number of client households served; 10. Education and professional designations. FSP does not evaluate quality of services provided to clients.
