Women in Finance Community Give-Back

At Seventy2 Capital, giving back to the communities in which we do business is extremely important to us. Throughout the holiday season, Seventy2 Capital’s Women in Finance group held food drives and fundraisers across our offices to donate to local organizations and shelters. These drives supported families in need and helped ensure that hundreds were able to enjoy a holiday meal or unwrap a gift chosen specifically for them.

Bethesda

The Women in Finance group in our Bethesda office held drives for two local organizations. They collected food for the Community Action Council of Howard County, which provides services including early childhood education, energy assistance, food assistance, housing assistance, and weatherization assistance to families throughout the county. We are proud to say that nearly all items on the council’s wish list were donated! The office also raised monetary donations for the Capital Area Food Bank, totaling $275.

Hunt Valley

Our Hunt Valley office held a Thanksgiving food drive for local families in the Baltimore area. Food and monetary donations were given to Living Classrooms, an organization with a mission to strengthen communities through hands-on education, workforce development, health and wellness, and community safety programs. The turnout for the food drive was wonderful; our team members were able to fill a cart of groceries while also raising over $500 in donations. The items were then dropped off at a local center just in time for Thanksgiving! Living Classrooms was able to feed over 400 families in the Baltimore area on Thanksgiving with the help of all of the donations from the community.

Red Bank

Our Red Bank chapter of the Women in Finance group hosted two drives over the fourth quarter, first collecting food for a local shelter and then holiday gifts for the Collier Group Home in Red Bank, New Jersey. Collier’s mission is to provide at-risk youth with a chance to grow to their potential in a safe and healthy environment. These girls have endured traumatic home situations, spent most or all of their lives in foster care or, in some cases, were returned by their adoptive families.  Our team members supported 10 young girls who live at the group home by creating two “Holiday Giving Trees” with ornaments representing gifts for the girls. The office reached its gift-giving goal, and every girl was able to receive a gift chosen specifically for them this holiday season.

The Women in Finance Community Give-Back event was a fantastic way for Seventy2 Capital team members to support the communities we live and work in. Thank you to the members of our larger offices who teamed up to support local organizations, and to the individuals who made clothing, toy, food, and monetary donations on their own to families in their regions.
